Grape Hyacinth

Question
11/16/09 I have just dug up a lot of Grape Hyacinth (all sizes) and want to save them for next years planting, how do I dry the bulbs like the ones found in store? Have I destroyed all the bulbs.
Thank you for your help.
Glenn.

Answer
Hi Glen,
Thanx for your question.  Put the bulbs in a place where they can dry off and then shake off the dirt.  Don't wash the bulbs because this can cause rot.  Store the bulbs in a net sack like an onion sack in a cool, dark, dry basement or, go ahead and plant them now in the desired location.  I hope this helps.
Tom
