wilted, wrinkled leaves on phalenopsis

Question
I have a miniature phalenopsis and the blooms have wilted very quickly, please help.  Also, on another plant the leaves are curling and wrinkled, what am I doing wrong?
Thank you for your help.

Answer
The usual reason for the condition you have described is root rot.  I would unpot any orchid with the wilting conditions and check the roots.  If any are "mushy" they are rotted and need to be removed. (Perhaps, before unpotting you need to obtain a bag of orchid potting mix from a garden center so that you will be prepared to repot.) When you unpot, spray off all remaining potting mix.  That will enable you to better see the root conditions.  Healthy roots will be firm and green when wet.  Normally, orchids require an annual repotting because the mix they are in deteriorates and reduces air movement through the potting mix and retians water longer.
