save my cymbidium

Question
After cutting the rotted roots and placing a cymbidium in a ziploc where & how should the ziploc be stored for those 6 months?

Answer
Hello Glenn,

Place the bag in a warm shady place.  If there are any latent growth eyes present, they will sprout and begin to grow.  Once there are several roots over 2 inches long you can pot it in a small pot that is barely larger than the bulb.  After about 6 months, if all goes well, pot it into a 3 inch pot.  As it continues to grow new bulbs, move it into the next size larger pot.  All of this may take upwards of 3 to 4 years before it will produce a flower spike, so be patient.

Lastly, if there is no growth started within the 6 months, that probably means that there are no latent growth eyes on the bulb.
