QuestionI am new to orchids and have an infestation of spider mites. Some of my orchids are in bloom. I asked the SaferBrand people if their insecticidal soap was okay for orchids and they said no. Do you have a product you could suggest?
AnswerMarcia, you can mist the plant (leaf top and bottom) with 70 % isoproply (rubbing) alcohol. Mist every couple of days for two weeks or you can use Bonide's "Eight" which is a systemic that gets into the plant tissues and lasts for 4 weeks. It is safe for orchids.
