D. amosum

Question
I thank you for your information about this deciduous orchid, however have one more question.  Do you recommend that the canes be removed after they have BLOOMED or do they leaf out and bloom again?

Answer
Margo, I do not recommend removal of canes.  They serve two important functions. First and foremost, an old cane usually forms the basis for new growth which may emerge from its base.  Secondly, the old cane stores nutrition for new growth. Neither of these functions require the presence of leaves.
