Answer
Sabrina,

There are no plants that will grow if the light is not bright enough for your hand to make a good shadow for at least 8 hours a day. If it is that dark you should stick with silk flowers or you will have to use fluorescent lights above your plants for 14 hours a day to give them adequate light. Plants that are low and medium light house plants are on the following lists:

Low-light houseplants
Arrowhead plant (Syngonium)
Cast iron plant (Aspidistra elatior)
Chinese evergreen (Aglaonema)
Corn plant (Dracaena fragrans 慚assangeana?
Peace lily (Spathiphyllum)
Peperomia (many species)
Philodendron (type with heart-shaped leaves)
Pothos (Epipremnum aureum)
Snake plant or mother-in-law抯 tongue (Sansevieria trifasciata)

Houseplants for medium light
Aluminum plant (Pilea Cadierei)
Asparagus fern (Asparagus densiflorus 慡prengeri?
Boston fern (Nephrolepis exaltata)
Bromeliads (many species)
Dieffenbachia (many cultivars)
Grape ivy  (Ciussus rhombifolia)
Lady抯-slipper orchid (Paphiopedilum)
Moth orchid (Phalaenopsis)
Parlor palm or Neanthe Bella palm (Chamaedorea elegans)
Polka-dot plant (Hypoestes phyllostachya)
Prayer plant (Maranta leuconeura erythroneura)
Rubber plant (Ficus elastica)
Schefflera (Brassaia actinophylla)
Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum)
Swedish ivy (Plectranthus australis)

Good luck.
