leaning oyster plant

Question
My oyster pland is not growing leafage down the entire stem. The top of it has become so heavy that it is leaning over. Several smaller sprouts are attached to the mother plant. I want to know if the plant will ever strighten itself and sprout leaves down the entire stem. I have rescently repotted the plant in a larger container.

Answer
Tameko,

The only plants I know that are called Oyster plants are either garden vegetables (salsify) or vining houseplants (Rhoeo).  I either need the latin name for the plant or a picture so I can identify it. You can email a picture to [email protected].

You said that you recently repotted it.  That was a mistake unless you live south of the equator and spring is coming. Fall is not repotting time when the days are getting shorter and the plant is going semi dormant.  If it was absolutely neccessary to repot I hope that you only moved it to a pot with a 2 inch larger diameter than the old pot. Anything bigger is probably why it got floppy and is now leaning. No, it most likely won't straighten itself up or grow leaves down the side but I can't be sure without knowing what it is.  Give me the latin name or send a picture and I am sure that I can be a lot more helpful.
