Peace Lilys

Question
I just bought a Peace Lily a week ago. Its about 2 feet tall and it looked healthy, one flower was already bloomed but the other two hasn't yet till' a few days later. I have a spray bottle and I spray the leaves and flowers outside my patio where the sun shines. I usually take the plant outside in the early afternoon to water. I do not poor water in the soil because i am not sure if I should do it. I tried asking the people whom I have bought it from, questions about the plant. I live in Okinawa, Japan and most of the Japanese people do not speak English.
Here are the Questions:
1)Do I poor water on the soil?
2)If so, how much do I water the plant?
3)Do I water everyday?
4)Where is the best area in my house to place the plant?
(Right now I have it by the side window of my patio)
5)What kind of soil do I use?
6)How often do I change the soil?
7)Does it need anything else, if so please explain what it is,what it does, and how often I do it?

This is my first house plant and Id like to take care of it as long as I can. Thank you for your patience and I hope to hear from you soon.

Answer
Sonya,

1)Do I poor water on the soil?  Yes, you can water it from the top by pouring water on the soil.
2)If so, how much do I water the plant? Water it enough that a little bit of water comes out the drain hole, then empty the drain tray an hour later. If it is too dry and water just runs out the drain hole without soaking into the soil you will need to set it in a tub or bucket of water so the soil will soak up the water.
3)Do I water everyday? No, after you water it do not water it again until the soil feels very dry for a few days or when a long bamboo skewer inserted in the soil comes out dry. It should not need water more than once a week or even 10 to 14 days depending on the soil it is in, this time of year. In the summer it may need water every 5-7 days.
4)Where is the best area in my house to place the plant?
(Right now I have it by the side window of my patio) It needs to be in a location where it will get very bright light but the sun will not actually shine on it. It sunburns very easily.
5)What kind of soil do I use? Regular potting soil is fine but I do recommend mixing extra perlite in with the soil to improve the drainage.
6)How often do I change the soil? Do not transplant it more often than every 3-5 years. When you transplant it will put the plant in shock for awhile. This is a plant that likes to be rootbound and will bloom more when it is. If you decide to repot only repot between April 1st and June 15th. Move it to a pot with a diameter more than 2 inches larger than the pot you are removing it from.
7)Does it need anything else, if so please explain what it is,what it does, and how often I do it? When the flowers fade and start turning green or brown you can cut them off using sharp scissors down where the flower stem emerges from a leaf stem.
