Peperomia plant

Question
I have a peromia plant that I recently re-potted.  Before I re-potted it, the stalks were leaning and no leaves have appeared in about 2 months.  Is it dying and is the leaning of the stalks natural?  I also split the plant into two parts potting it in two different pots.  Was this okay?

Answer
Hi Toni,

There are many different species of Peperomia, so I am not sure which you are talking about. That makes it hard for me to give you specific advice. If you can email a photo to me at [email protected], I will identify it for you and also be able to see with my own eyes just what the problem is.

Unnecessary repotting is the single most common cause of plant failure. Plants that are not healthy or not growing vigorously, should not be repotted. The same applies to dividing plants, so you have not helped your plants by doing so.

Send me a photo(s) that shows both plants, including their pots. Also describe the available light and your watering technique. Then, I can help you better from there.

I look forward to our reply.

Regards,
Will Creed
