purple passion plants are not purple

Question
hi,
i have several purple passion plants in my green house and they are not purple.
the leaves are green with only a tiny bit of purple fuzz.
the green house is shaded by tall trees, but does get some direct sun.
could they be getting too much light?
other than that, they are very healthy and growing rapidly.
thanks

Answer
Hi David,

Inadequate light is nearly always the cause of Gynuras not maintaining their purple color. It should be in direct sun for most of the day in your greenhouse. Consider pruning it back before you increase the light intensity as the older leaves will have difficulty adapting to a sudden increase in light.
