Answer
Ficus as a group are notoriously stress-prone.  Some people claim merely moving them across the room will cause leafdrop.  You've purchased a Ficus at Home Depot and you have hauled the whole plant out of HD and into your bedroom -- the trip alone is stressful, the new site is stressful, the change in humidity and temperature and lighting are all stressful.  Leaves are going to fall.

Luckily, these Leaves grow back rapidly.  Provided there is nothing new for this Ficus to stress over, it will probably be fine.

Ficus do well in smaller pots.  If you suspect this plant needs a new pot, remove it from the current pot and examine the roots to see if the plant is potbound -- roots will fill the pot and it will clearly need a transfer.  If the roots still have room to grow, put it back and give it a dose of high Nitrogen fertilizer (to stimulate leaf growth), and 6 months to a next year, then repeat and if needed repot.

You'll learn how to take care of this plant slowly and certainly.  Thanks for writing.
