my spider plant has not had any babys

Question
i have had my spider plant for 2 years and it have not produced any babys what am i doing wrong it stays on the porch and i give it rain water only when it needs it about every other week.

Answer
Hi Gina,

If your spider plant is outside on your porch in good light and air circulation and it only needs water every other week, then it is either 1) Not getting enough light 2) In a pot that is too large or 3) Getting too dry between waterings.

To produce babies, spider plants need to be tightly potted, in a sunny location, and thoroughly watered as soon as the surface of the soil feels dry to the touch.
