Schefflera (umbrella tree)

Question
I've been taking care of a schefflera (umbrella tree) for almost 8 months now and it's about 8 inches tall.  All of a sudden, it's starting to look too heavy on top of it because it is beginning to lean off to one side.  Almost like it's getting where it might get too heavy for the pot it's in and make it tip over.  What is something I can do to avoid this? T would apreciate dome information or advice about this. Thanks.

Answer
Michele,

I reccommend doing some pruning on that heavy top growth to lighten it up. Just use a pair o f sharp scisors and cut back all the bushy growth to make the plant look a lot better. Prune off one leaf and stem section at a time until you are happy with the way it looks. Good luck.
