Scheffleara plant

Question
I live just a little west of the coastal area of North Carolina (New Bern).  Should I keep the potted Scheffleara in the pot or plant it in my garden.  If in the garden, in a shaded area, a partly shaded area, or a sunny area?  Thank you for your answer, this is a plant in memory of our daughter.

Answer
Hi Gay,

Scheffleras are tropical plants that will survive outdoors in winter only in southern Florida and southern California. Even a light frost will cause considerable damage to a Schefflera.

So keep your Schefflera in its existing pot and find an indoor location for it that is within a few feet of a sunny window. I have written an article on the complete care of Scheffleras that I will email to you (or anyone) who sends a request to me at my address below. It is free.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
