witch is the most effective and efficient way to maximize my production rate and growth rate i live in cali also can you be a little specific in witch is easist and witch is hardest to maintain in a california climate

Answer
Hi Andrew,

Feel free to use punctuation and capitalization when asking a question.  It'll help me to understand your question better, and to give you a more complete answer.

I'll start with Venus flytraps.  They'll be easy to raise as outdoor container plants in most areas of California with the exception of the hottest desert areas.  (You didn't tell me where you live in California.)  Follow the directions on this link:  http://www.cobraplant.com/venus-flytrap.html

Cobra plants (Darlingtonia californica) will be easiest to raise in Northern CA, very difficult in southern, unless you live right on the coast.  Key to their success is loose soil media, don't stand them in water, and lots of overhead watering or a drip system.  They need root aeration to keep their roots cool.  For more information visit:  http://www.cobraplant.com/darlingtonia-californica.html

With sundews you'll need to figure out which one you want to grow.  At last count around 100 species exist, come from almost every continent, and range in habitat from boreal bogs north of the Arctic circle, to tropical rainforest.  Some of the easiest species that do great in California would include Cape sundew, Fork-leaf sundews, Spoon leaf sundews, and Pygmy sundews.  Go to our page on sundews, and you can find ones that may fit how you want to grow them. In talking about maximiziming production rate, you're talking about mass propagation.  This is a bit beyond the scope of the Allexperts format.  Several books, including our e-book have extensive information on propagation.

Good Growing!
