Ventricosa, Cape Sundew

Question
QUESTION: Hello, I have a couple questions on my two plants.  First my Ventricosa is growing like a weed!  It just formed its biggest picture about a week and half ago. My question is after it formed and opened it seemed to shrink a bit.  Don't know if I'm imagining or will they do that.  The picture is a very pretty red and the nectar runs down the sides!  Last I have a Cape Sundew.  It's in a Exo-Terra terriuam with 4 26 watt florescent bulbs.  During the day the temp tops out about 82 and humidity is 64% and I have the lights no more than 8inches above the plant.  During the day there is some dew but allot more in the morning.  Is that ok?

ANSWER: Hi Jason,

That sounds great for the environment.

Nepenthes pitchers harden off some after opening.  This may be the shrinkage you're seeing.

QUESTION: Jeff, thank you for your responce.  What about the Sundew item.  Less dew during the day more in the morning??

Answer
Hi Jason,

Sorry about that.  I was so focused on your set-up I missed the end.

The slight decrease in mucilage later in the day if very common.  We see it all the time in our outdoor grown plants.  It happens from the changes in heat and humidity over the course of the day.  It is very normal.
