Ornge leaves on Nepenthes Tuncata

Question
Hi I have a Npenthes Truncata that I ordered from you guys 3 months ago. Since I attained it it has grown 2 new leaves and one new pitcher. One of the original leaves is completely orange and 2 of the other ones of the six leaves are getting small bits of orange. I water it as often as it takes to keep the soil moist to the touch.I use a 60 watt florescent light to supplement its light on cloudy days. On a normal day it receives bright light and 2 hours of appealed sunlight. I live in California in Santa Clarita. I use distilled water. My conditions are not very humid but enough that I am growing a Heliampjora Heterodoxa x minor. I believe its between 20% and 50% humidity. I also read in the book tha Savage Garden about a mold called Rust Spot. I can send some pictures if youd like. Thanks!

Answer
Hi Alaric,

From what you're describing it simply sounds like you are having old leaves die off as part of the normal aging process.  Nepenthes truncata is very tolerant of lower humidity, and tends to do great in household conditions.  Definitely send me a photo.  It will help me to determine if this is just normal leaf die-off, or something more problematic.

Good Growing!
