info pinguicula


Question
hi, i just bought a pinguicula from lowes and i don't know what kind of speacies is it, it doesn't say on the box but i have a photo of it, can you tell what kind of butterworth is it, right now i put it in 4 hours of direct sunlight, huminity 40-50%, is in peat moss and perlight with sphagnum moss.

Hi Aaron,

I couldn't open the picture, but there's a 90% chance your plant is Pinguicula primuliflora since they are mass produced.  Your growing conditions are good.  This plant will do better long-term if you can get it into a big pot, possibly along side some Sarracenia.  It is very prone to rotting out in small pots.  They do best outdoors partially shaded.
