Deformed leaves on my Cape sundew

Question
Hello -

About 2 weeks ago I unpotted one of my capesundews to separate some of the baby ones that had been growing.

After I repotted....all look good except that the motherplants leaf growth has been been a misformed. All the new leaves curl conterclockwise some. From an overhead, it loks sort of swirling.

All the plants get tray distilled and adequate light. This only happened immediately after the repotting, in the same 50/50 perlite and moss that they came in.

Were no sign of root bugs or anything.

I am assuming that the roots just got a little twisted up, which has led to this oddsly shaped growth. My question is...will this condition correct itself in time or is there something that i should proactively do myself?

Thanks in advance!

Answer
Hi Mark,

You probably have an aphid problem going on.  You won't always see them, but the symptoms you've described is consistent with aphid damage.  Spray your plants with a pyrethrin solution.  You can find it at any garden center.  Safer?makes an excellent prepared solution.  Spray your plants as directed by the manufacturer.  You may need to repeat it in 7 days.

The damage is permanent, so you'll have to wait until your plant has lots of new growth before you can clip off the older leaves.

Good growing!
