QuestionHi,
I recently purchased a Drosera Venusta and placed it near to a number of fruit flies. Within a day or two, it has already caught 10 or 12 flies. Should I be removing some flies, or trying to limit the plant to a certain number per month? Or is it okay to let the plant catch as many flies as it can, provided I am not force-feeding the flies to the plant?
Thanks,
Alec
AnswerHi Alec,
No, there isn't any reason to remove the carcasses. Keep in mind that this happens to them in nature too. At our nursery, we have thousands of sundews, and it would be extremely time consuming to have to remove the carcasses, especially since they don't harm the plant at all.
Good growing!
