Darkness

Question

Lights
I don't have a window to grow my nepenthes in so I've put
them under two 55 watt cfl's. They get about 12-13 hours
under these lights. I grow them in my small apartment and
the only place I have to grow them right now is in a main
room in the apartment. This means I can only turn my lights
on at night when everyone is sleeping (my spouse don't like
to see the lights hanging all day). During the day time the
plants never receive any direct light and only get very
faint diffuse light. They end up only having about 4 hours
of complete darkness. Is this enough darkness for my neps to
be happy?

thanks for your help!

Answer
Hi Adam,

They should be fine with that.  You'll just need to give them about a month on this cycle and see how they do.  If you're finding odd things happening you may need to adjust.

Good Growing!
