D. regia - Metal Halide

Question
I recently purchased a small King Sundew.  Do you have any experience growing these under metal halide lamps?  If so, can you recommend a good distance from the leaves for a 400w lamp?  Also, is it beneficial to have a light breeze blowing onto this plant, or is a fan that pulls air / heat away from the plant / light sufficient?

Thank you.

Answer
Hi Tom,

We use a Metal Halide in the winter in our sundew greenhouse, and they work great.  Position it about two feet above the plants.  A light breeze is fine, but a strong fan would be detrimental.  As long as your grow room is cooling at night things will be fine.

Good Growing!
