annual or perennial ?

Question
I saw an unusual flower. It was over a foot tall with large red blossoms. Foliage looked like poppy or garden pea. The lady who grew them said they were lollipop in broken English.I would like to find seed for next year so I can grow my own. Hope you have some idea from my description and no picture.Just want the flower name.
              Thanks,

ps.. From a distance they looked like gereniums

Answer
send a digital photo(jpeg format) and i'll see what i can do. could be a salvia or geranium vartiety. lollipop is a common name and not species specific. i'm in southern NJ. check w/a local garden center/nursery more familiar w/plants in your area.
good luck
rick
