Transplanting Lantana

Question
I have five or six well established lantana plants I want to dig up and transplant to another site in my yard.  I live in Mississippi (where it's just started into summer--93 plus daytime highs until November probably--so I'm assuming I need to wait until cooler weather.  In your opinion, however, what time of year would be best for me to replant them?

Answer
Tom, the best times for transplanting established plants is early spring or early fall. Personally, I always choose the fall because it gives the plants ample time to establish their root systems before winter sets in. The weather in certain areas of the country is too unpredictable in the spring, especially in areas where a late frost is a possibility or where hot weather can set in prematurely.

Good luck, and please write again if I can ever provide assistance.

Regards,

Mike
