Weeping willow bugs

Question
There are tiny black bugs (when killed turns purple) all over my weeping willow tree.  Do you know what they are? and how to get rid of them without harming all my humming birds?

Answer
Ken:
Are you able to determine if they are harming your tree or just a nuisance? Can you send a closeup photo to help me with an identification? Best to get an accurate ID first. If you take a photo, try to get as close as you can to take the shot.  Be sure to review it on your computer first, before sending to be sure it is in focus.  If you are not so hot at taking photos like me, you can always collect a few in a bottle and carry by your local garden center or nursery for their assistance in getting an ID plus a recommendation if needed.

Steve
