My peace lily at work was doing fine. Very green healthy new leaves. I took a close look and one of the stalks seem to be infested with these little things that look like sesame seeds. the closer i look, i can see that it has spread to some of the leaves. Could the cause of this be frm fertilizer spikes that ive been using

Not likely that the fertilizer sticks have anything to do with any disease.  As far as the 'sesame seed' objects, I cannot say without photos or more information.  You say that the "peace lily at work was doing fine", does that mean that it is not doing well now?  If so, what are the symptoms?  Yellowing? Wilting?
