tiny green bug possibly eating mango houseplant leaf

Question
QUESTION: i have a couple of 2 month old mango houseplants that look like somethings's eating some leaf...
i see sometimes some sort of bright green very tiny bug below the leaf - looks like a micro grasshopper -
i squished a few but it can be fast to jump on the other side -
i wonder if that is the culprit.
it is always one by itself -
and does not seem to jump to other plants [maybe the lychee seedlings]
here is a photo of one that got stuck on my drosera - do you have any idea of what it can be and what i can do?

ANSWER: Stephano:

This critter photo favors a leafhopper, however, these insects make thier living by sucking plant juices rather than chewing leaves like the grasshoppers do.
If you have a reputable greenhouse/nursery in your area, consider collecting one or two to get someone to look at for a positive ID. These folks should be able to suggest an appropriate insecticide once the ID is made.  Insecticidal soap is good for many plants and is quite safe to use as well.

QUESTION: thanks for your prompt answer.
would a pyrethrin based spray work? I would rather use something less sticky

ANSWER: Stefano:
OK to use, however it must come in contact with the insect, since this material has no residual activity.

QUESTION: thanks
would a soap based insecticide have such residual activity? could I just use some dishwasher soap diluted with water? would that be effective? would not want to damage the leaves.

Answer
Stefano:
I would feel better if you used a soap designed for plant use such as SAFER BRAND INSECTICIDAL SOAP.  You can find this at most garden centers and it is effective for many bugs. Mixing dish soap is a hit or miss deal- no magic formula out there I know of.  You might risk plant injury.
