Pin Oak Disease affecting leaves

Question
I am trying to save my mother's tree and cannot find anything online.  This tree has some disease where the vascular system of the leaf becomes engorged and brittle, eventually causing the leaf to curl into a small dead ball.  The tree is still healthy for now and I am hoping we caught it early enough to treat

Answer
Daniel:

Can you send along a closeup photo of a few representative symptomatic leaves.  Take lots of images and pick/send the best.  Be sure it is in focus before sending by reviewing it on your computer first. Also, carefully unroll a few leaves that are still green and look for any tiny insects or webs within the curl.  Also, look over the tree trunk and root collar for any other evidences of damage such as loose bark or wounds on the tree.  How big/tall is the tree?  What is the diameter of the trunk at chest height?

Steve

Additional information:

Daniel:  some insect can cause this symptom.  Look again for webs within the curl and also other evidences of insects.
