CARPENTAR ANT BITE

Question
Do Carpentar ants bite? Are carpentar ant bites poisonous?  A week ago I was very focused ON LINE when I felt a sharp stinging feeling on my right ankle and then it did it again and again moving up my right leg.   I saw this huge carpentar ant running toward my shorts pant leg and brushed it off.  Finally found a tissue to pick it up with.  Honestly I could've put a saddle on it.  It was 3/4 of an inch long and the 3 sections of its body were very large.  I flushed it and it won't bite anyone else.  I started using a prescribed Hydocortisone cream USP 2.5% that I had "on hand", thinking I could treat it myself. I did go to my Dr. and he said to keep using the cream that I waited too long, and said it looks like I am having a reaction to this bite.  It is slowly disappearing, but looks ugly and like a birthmark now.  It has spread around to the right side of my leg.  I also might have compounded this bite while helping my son.in.law pick weeds.  He has weeds that I am allergic to I have decided.  NOTE: I do keep spiders when they visit as they can see the pavement ants I have in the kitchen.  Some are "wood", some are "wolf" and when they get too large I put them outside. Sorry to be so wordy.  Thanks for listening.  Can you help me?

Answer
