Racoons and rabbits

Question
There are rabbits all over my yard eating all the flowers. I've sprayed with "repel" and some other $15 spray from Menards with putrified eggs in it but it only works till it rains. Also a racoon is eliminating at various locations around the house...How do i stop this?  Mike

Answer
Hi Mike

Rabbits in excess are best live trapped and relocated if you do not want to harm them.  A small cage type trap wrapped top bottom and sides with newspaper.  Rabbits love tunnel hide aways so much that you won't even need to use any bait if you tuck it in the flowers for cover. The trap needs to be the type with a floor trigger that close when they step on it once inside.  Since there is no bait, you won't catch other animals.

You might be able to trap raccoon as well with a larger trap.  I make electronic deterrents for raccoon and many other night time pests. Does not reliably help with rabbits though.  Here are my websites.
