wildlife in garden

Question
hi..we have a small garden here, and every time we plant something, either the seeds get eaten, or veggies grow to a point, then get eaten. we have tried bloodmeal, and that does not work. whatever does this is coming at night to do it. we have tried wire mesh, and it gets a hole bitten in it so the animal can get to the seeds and plants. we have raccons, opossums, and squirrels around here. what can we do, shot of sitting there with a machine gun?  thank you!

Answer
Hi,

One of my recent answers concerned something similar.

The blood meal might discourage deer or groundhog but will attract raccoon, opossum, skunk, coyote, fox, dogs, cats etc.  I make deterrents against some of the pests. My website.

I really don't know of anything but squirrels or rats that will chew through metal wire.  The squirrels would be active very early. Rats mostly at night but anytime.
