Zucchini; Red Bugs

Question
I have little red bugs on my zucchini. I think they might be some sort of spider
because they have created webs on the leafs of the plant. They are quite small
so I can't see how many legs they have or any thing but they do tend to clump
on the edges of the leaves. I am wondering what they are and how to get ride of
them?(I'd rather not use a pesticide)

Answer
Joshua, these are most likely red spider mites. You can use an organic pesticide to control these. I personally use either rotenone or pyrethrum. Both are made from plant extracts, and are non-toxic to humans and the environment. You can purchase these independently or as a combination. Attached is a link to this product if you're interested.

I hope this information helps. Good luck, and please write again if I can ever be of assistance.

Mike
