Brown Recluse Spider

Question
my mom and I just moved to the upper Michigan from lower Wisconsin.

Last night I woke up and found a spider on my wall, it was brownish with long legs (compared to it's body)

it was the size of, I'd say, a deer tick or dog tick... it was really small. Maybe even the size of my pinky fingernail.

could that be a baby brown recluse? It was too small to see if it had that violin shape on it. my eyes aren't that good at night. (I was in an accident that left me blind in one eye) so it would be hard to tell even if it was big enough.

Is that how small brown recluses start out as... and should I be worried that we carried something here from Wisconsin?

Answer
Mayu,

I think it is very unlikely that this is a brown recluse spider. There are lots of small, harmless spiders that fit this description and the chance that you carried a brown recluse from lower Wisconsin is also very small. Brown recluse spiders don't naturally occur in Michigan.

I hope this helps.
