So Cal new lawn

Question
I live in Los Angeles California in Zone 9.  I have started growing a new lawn from seed, and it is about 4 inches tall now.  When It came up it was a beautiful green, but now some spots are turning yellow.  What should I do before this gets out of control? any help you can give will be greatly apreciated.

Thankfully,
James

Answer
Water the lawn infrequently, but deeply, e.g. such as once per week for 2 hours rather than 15 minuttes daily. avoid very dry soil between each watering but on the other hand avoid water logged or consistently damp soils.

if you have not fertilized your lawn yet, you may need to do this. apply a fertilizer to a dry lawn and water in well immediately. use directions on lable for amount to use.

Mow the lawn 2-3" tall and mow frequently. Try not to cut the lawn too low (except if you use hybrid Bermuda seeds in which case you should mow it 1.5-2" tall).
