Problems with new SOD

Question
Hi,

I live in Southern California and we put in new sod 5 weeks ago. I just got through fertilizing with Scotts turf builder last weekend. It appears we have a grub problem in the back lawn, it's thinning and several bare patches have developed. We are also getting critters diggin up the lawn because of the grub problem. I want to spread Triazicide pesticide as well as overseed to thicken and bring back the lawn. The plan is to apply the pesticide today and overseed this weekend (2 or 3 days from now). Will I need to wait longer before attempting to reseed or will the pesticide have no effect on the overseeding. Any other tips for a full lawn would be appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
Pesticides will not interfer with seeding. You need to keep soil under sod damp until it has rooted by watering frequently. When you sow seeds, you need to continue to water frequently until new seeds have sprouted and grass plants have established. If the seeds are allowed to dry out they die.
