I live in MD, it is just starting to get cold at night.
we just a cold spell but it will get warmer
60-70 during the day 38-45 overnight.

i have a bare area that I want to seed.
can i do it today?

You are getting a bit late. The preferred seeding window in your area is between mid august through mid september. You can sow now, but use a fast germinating grass type like perennial ryegrass. You will have to water frequently to keep the soil damp at all times until new seeds sprout. This may take upwards of 30 days under current temperatures.
