I live within the Chicago area, zone 5, and have noticed an break of wide blade fescue in my lawn. How do I eradicate it and prevent it from returning?

This problem may have several reasons. Fescue may have stress (environmental). Soil composition may be the second one. I will suggest you to apply Potassium based fertilizer that may work for you. Keep proper mowing. Better to mail me picture of fescue blade which have issue.
