KIlling grass and weeds with salt?

Question
If I use salt (salt water) in a sprayer to spray my gravel driveway, will the salt water solution seep into the ground and effect the roots of my plants planted nearby?  I.E.  I have a flowerbed that sits parallel to the driveway, that I don't want killed.  Thanks so much!

Answer
It really all depends on how much you spray and how concentrated it is with the salt. Excess salt can play havoc with soils, but if it's just a little, it'll likely get diluted and washed out with the rains.

Sorry I can't be more specific. It really just depends on how much salt gets into the soil. If you do this, just keep it minimal and keep it directly on the gravel driveway.

Good luck!
