new lawn areas that wont grow

Question
Hi ive recently reseeded my whole lawn which most of it has taken an is filling in nicely now but there is an area which just will not grow, its watered regularly. ive never had this happen before and am baffled as to what to do?

Answer
There are MANY possible reasons for this problem, but I will just bring up a few of the main ones for you to look into.

1) Are you 100% positive that sufficient seed got put in those areas? Usually, this happens when somebody thinks they did a thorough seeding job, but actually missed a spot or two.

2) Are you 100% sure that those areas are getting watered? Again, often times people set out sprinklers but don't notice that certain patches aren't actually getting hit.

3) Was there any kind of toxic spill in those areas? Pool chlorine? Fertilizer? Weed killer?

If you are certain that there was no spill, then I'd just say that you should seed those spots 1 more time and make sure to water them daily. Sometimes, the 2nd time's a charm.

Good luck Kate.
