Is it okay to let Bermuda grass grow right up to my house?

Question
Hi Ronald,
I'm just wondering if it's okay to let Bermuda grass grow all the way up to my house rather than having a border of mulch.  the grass would be touching only brick or concrete.  Will the Bermuda do any damage?

-Mike

Answer
The grass will not damage brick or concrete but it is very aggresive and does not recognise mulch borders, fences or edging material. The mulch border will help you to recognise when the bermuda is invading; and it will lessen the "dead grass" effect if you spray a grass killer on the mulched area only when the runners appear in it.
