raised garden bed

Question
I have been given a raised modular veggie bed for Xmas and now we are trying to work out where to put it. Should it go on concrete (slab) or on top of grass? Or would it be better on soil? Could you give me reasons for your answer? Thank you.

Answer
I am sorry I had answered and submitted the response to this question but somewhere along the lines it must not have posted. I just noted the notice from AllExperts that the question was still unanswered. My apologies.
Only do it on soil. Scrape away the live plant material exposing soil and then install it.
Reasons, simple...you need good drainage and some plants have deep roots. If you put it on concrete it wont drain well. If you put it on grass, the grass will rot and then could create bad soil conditions in the root zone of your new plants.
Hope that helps.
