landscaping driveway ?

Question
I have a quick question, My driveway is stone and on the side closer to neighbor I have about 4 ft of grass on my property. I would like to plant bushes or shrubs of some sort to give some sort of lining on my driveway and seperation from the neighbors which are " right there " .. would you have any suggestions as to what i can do or which kind of plants / shrubs / bushes i can use that will not be overwelming and real tall but give my house a welcome look to it ? I can send a picture if needed . thankyou so much for your time .

Answer
You didn't specify a location, so I'm going to give as generic a response, and ask that you verify these chosen plants as suitable for your area...

CLASSIC CLIPPED HEDGES: Boxwood (Buxus species: Japanese, Korean, English - dwarf varieties), Yew (Taxus species: English, Irish, Western, Japanese - the smaller, 'nana' varieties), Xylosma (in nicer cliamtes), Abilia, Cotoneaster, Escallonia, Pittosporum, to name a few.

MORE UNIQUE CHOICES: Bamboo (not all varieties are obnoxiously invasive), Clumping Grasses, Thuja, Huckleberry (Vaccinium), Roses, and in southern California - Bottlebrush.

If the goal is to seperate your respective driveway areas, I might also suggest an earth mound that is landscaped, if it doesn't impede drainage between your lots.  It adds a bit to an otherwise flat surface.
