Question
I have a Hunter sprinkler system with 10 zones. Recently zone 2, and now zone 5 also cycle on and off during their time of cycle. Got any suggestions?

What model of controller do you have?
The reason I ask is: some controllers have a "cycle/ soak" program mode. That might be the problem. The other possibility is a pressure problem or more likely, a valve problem.
To test the controller you will need to check the voltage at the terminals. While the controller is on zone 2 you should read about 24 volt between the #2 terminal and the "COM" terminal. If it is fluctuating then your controller is to blame. If it is steady the the problem is in the valve or water supply.
