Starting a garden

Question
I was thinking about trying to grow spaghetti squash in a kiddie pool, would that work?  We have a "Sun Room" attached to our house that gets some sun but also gets very hot.  Would I be able to grow my veggies in there?  I think outside all of the animals around here would eat them. Any advice would be wonderful!
Thanks

Answer
A sun room is an ideal location to grow plants. The great thing about a sun room is they will be protected from insects and other pests. Just make sure the room does not get too hot, as this could adversely affect the plants.

In regard to spaghetti squash, all they need is space and fertile soil. They need to be planted at least 2' apart. If you do use a kiddie pool, you should add drainage holes to prevent "wet feet". When the soil stays saturated, the roots often begin rotting, depriving the plants of nutrients and oxygen. It can be done without the holes, but you will need to monitor the moisture in the soil daily and water when needed.

I hope this answered your question. Please write again if I can ever be of assistance.

Regards,

Mike
