Tall floral arrangement question

Question
I wanted to take on the task of creating my own centerpieces for my wedding.  I have 20" tall glass cylinder vases, silk flowers, curly willow, and hanging votives.  I want to create a rounded (ball-like) arrangement at the top of the vase and have the curly willow come through the flowers - so that they are seen both out of the top of the flowers as well as below - through the glass vase.  I do not want to see the stems of the silk flowers.  How would you cut/arrange / place the flowers at the top of the vase with no stems showing through?  Is there a trick to this?  Thanks so much for your help.

Answer
If you were using Styrofoam balls, you would cover them in moss, arrange your flowers so the stems are contained and them use the willow so it goes through the sphere all together.  Without seeing the components, it's difficult to tell you conclusively, but from what I am understand in your letter this should work.
