Gardening Cheat Sheets

Gardening Cheat Sheets

We love to think of gardening as a privilege, not a chore. (We hope you feel the same, that’s why you’re here, right? :)) But keeping up with all the info you need to have to make sure your garden runs smoothly and efficiently, stays neat and healthy, and is enjoyable and fun, can be daunting. There are so many great ideas, tips and hacks out there! So infographics like these gardening cheat sheets are a great way to keep all the info on a particular garden subject where you can check it easily at a glance. Pin the ones that interest you away for later, or bookmark this page and you won’t have to go searching the entire internet, “for that one tip you read, one time”, that you are sure will fix your problem… if only you could find it! Hope these help make your gardening time more of that special “me” time that it should be!

This first one is a lawn maintenance seasonal cheat sheet from ‘Heighton Buckley‘. It gives you a chart and notes on the optimal timing of lawn care in order to have a heathy, green lawn. Lots of tips on weather related decisions with fertilizing, mowing and seeding.

Ok, one of the biggest issues we have as gardeners is pests. Abby Quillen from ‘Fix’ has written an in depth article on getting rid of garden pests, along with this companion cheat sheet. Not only does this infographic show you how to indentify damage and which type of bug is doing it, it helps you identify good bugs too, and teaches you how to use safe solutions!

‘Hobby Farms Magazine‘ wants you to know how to mind your mulch! Ever wondered how to use it, how thick, how close, what kind? They cover it all in this mulching cheat sheet! They even have a formula you can use to figure out how much you need. Pretty much everyone should be using mulch, so this is a must have guide.

If you love tulips, daffodils and lilies, and have always wanted to have them in your garden, this is your cheat sheet. From ‘Proflowers‘, this infographic is the ultimate beginners guide to bulb gardening, all in one place. Lastly, since indoor gardening is gardening too, we had to include this houseplants lighting cheat sheet from ‘University of Illinois Extension‘. This doesn’t just give you vague recommendations for your houseplants like “bright, indirect light” (what does that even mean?) This tells you which plants need how much light based on window exposure (East, West, North or South exposure) and distance they should be from that window. Easy!
