All about Electric Dog Fences

A dog has always been considered as man抯 best friend. That is because a dog can provide you and your family the companionship, love and protection that you can get from a human friend, and at times even more. Our pet enjoys playing and running about in open spaces but, unfortunately, not all of our houses provide just the right amount of space for our dogs to play. Oftentimes, this causes our dogs to wander off, causing them to either get lost or worse, get into an accident.
It is for this rationale that it is extremely important that you install a dog fence. A dog fence is basically a fence that you set up at your front and backyard to limit your dog to the confines of it.

While the traditional dog fences are able to serve the purpose of keeping your pet from wandering off, these kinds of fences can mar the attractiveness of front and backyard. Fortunately, there are alternative dog fences that you can install to keep your dog safe and within the confines of your own property while still keeping your yards attractive and inviting. One such alternative are electric dog fences.

An electric dog fence is generally comprised of a wired fence and a collar that would be worn by your dog. The wired fence is generally low, allowing this to be hidden by the grass and bushes around your yard. This is how an electric dog fence works. As your dog runs about the yard wearing the collar that comes in the package, and comes close to the fence, a signal is transmitter to the collar which sends off a beeping sound and produces a mild electric shock to deter your dog from wandering any further.

The shock is strong enough to discourage your dog from going anywhere near that particular area, but mild enough that it does not lead to any short-term and long-term damage or injury to your best friend. The concept behind this is that with each shock given by the electric dog fence, your pet eventually is trained to only stay within a certain area of the property.
Electric dog fences are generally available in local pet stores and over the Internet. Most of these electric dog fence packages come with free shipping and batteries to ensure that your pet would remain safe around the confines of your property.
