The Winter Jasmine Bonsai Tree - Tips And Advice

The Winter Jasmine tree is a great species to grow as a Bonsai. This tree of Chinese origin is an interesting one since it flowers in the middle of winter. This is highly desirable since the colours (bright yellow) look truly wonderful in the cold and drab color scheme that exists in the winter. The yellow flowers also look lovely on the brown of the branches that the Winter Jasmine Bonsai possesses.

This type of tree prefers to be watered once a day except in the winter months when water evaporates slower. Do not allow the soil of this tree to dry out - this is in contrast to the Cedar Bonsai tree which can be overwatered.

This tree is very good are surviving winters so if you live in a colder part of the world you will find that this is an ideal tree for you. It will also survive the summers quite nicely as well, however if you live in a place of extremes you might like to put it into the shade for a little more protection.

As I said, the Jasmine Winter Bonsai is a popular one because of the bright yellow flowers that appear during winter time. Since this burst of colour is the main reason people like this tree, it can be good to put it into an area that is dull in nature and will look great when the tree flowers. The flowers also look wonderful in the snow, however I would protect them if the snow was very heavy.
