Seed Starting Packet

When starting seeds indoors you may suddenly find you need more information relative to when, how and where to start your seeds. So you get on the internet and search and search. Finally, you find some advice that seems right. Ever think of just looking on back of the seed packet?

There are many different companies that produce and packet flower and vegetable seeds and some do, and some don't provide useful information on the back of their packets. I cannot think of anyone who does not have a great picture on the front of the seed packet which plays a major role in buying the packet in the first place. I must admit, I've bought the picture on the front of the packet without the information on the back of the packet that would teach me to grow a flower or vegetable like I see on the front.

Sadly, this reminds me of the days when I saved my yard chore money to buy mail order things out of the back of comic books. I came in all sweaty from working and my mother told me there was something in the mail. Lordy, lordy, it was the sea monkeys I ordered. I jumped up and down, put them in the little bowl, added water, and cried. I got out a magnifying glass and still no monkeys. I got out my microscope and sure enough, some where between the shipping location and my mailbox someone took my sea monkeys out of the package and put brine shrimp in there. Must have been the same mailman I saw playing my guitar on the Ed Sullivan show that never came in the mail.

Over the years I have thought of how much grief I could have avoided if the mailman had not rattled up the super vision x-ray glasses when he put them in my mailbox. I put them on and looked at the first pretty girl I could find and nothing. Might as well have been looking at a red and white checkered tablecloth. If those glasses had worked I could have looked right through the picture on the front of the seed packets and at least know if I was getting good seeds or not.

Now I feel very sad about the sufferers of postal worker syndrome because I can see how getting blamed for all these wonderful inventions not working would get on a person's nerves. So to save your mailman when you are considering starting seeds indoors find out who is the leader of the packet. Who actually puts detailed information on the back of the packet that can be depended on. In exchange for this advice someone, somewhere, please direct me to where I can get some x-ray glasses that work.
