Comets in outdoor pond (lagoon)

Question
I live on a pond in South Carolina.  And I recently added 30 - 1 1/2" Comet goldfish to the pond. A couple went belly up as I was adding them but the rest swam away.  What do you think of the survival rate of these fish? I see a number of small minnows and sunfish, which I occassionaly feed bread bits.  I haven't seen the goldfish yet. Thanks for your response..
Dick

Answer
Hi Dick,
comets are reasonably hardy goldfish and may survive but to transfer any fish from one habitat to another you really should float them in a plastic bag until the water temperatures equalize and then place them in as they could get a stressed.
George.
